MODULE 1.4a: STUDYING THE BRAIN:

  • Who is Phineas Gage and why is he important?
  • How do modern day case studies teach us about the brain?
  • Explain the general purpose and difference between the following brain research methods: EEG, CAT, fMRI, sMRI, case study (Know how they work, whether they show brain structure or function)
  • Explain how phrenology helped foster the study of localization of the brain in psychology.
